Ariane together with a dedicated team of clinical and technical advisors has revised the ideas behind “Contact Radiotherapy” making it worthy of a new name: X-ray Brachytherapy.
The principle is simple and elegant; by optimising peak energy, beam spectrum and treatment distance, effective doses of radiation can be delivered to cancerous tissue whilst sparing the surrounding area with simple collimation, and beyond the target by limiting beam penetration. The process of optimisation has been made possible by the application of Monte Carlo beam modelling techniques, application of radiobiological science and verification in clinical practice. Translation of X-ray Brachytherapy into a practical clinical tool has resulted in the Papillon + system which is now available with a full range of accessories.
Treating accessible tumours
Skin and body cavities are directly accessible for treatment on an outpatient basis using three or four fractions of radiation. Other sites are treated intra-operatively at the time of surgery using a single radiation dose. In all cases X-ray Brachytherapy is a simple and highly effective way to treat directly accessible tumours.
Whether your interest is breast, skin, rectal, Intra vaginal or general Intra operative radiotherapy treatment, Papillon+ has a role to play in improving outcomes simply and economically.
